French Marshal Maurice de Saxe at Fontenoy (Danny Fogleman Collection) |
This is one of my favorite Minden models, Maurice de Saxe riding in his wicker chariot during the Battle of Fontenoy in 1745. The French marshal was suffering from Dropsy and could not ride his horse on the say of the battle.
This Picture of the Day depicts Maurice accompanied by his Uhlans de Saxe. All of the figures shown are Minden Miniatures. The figures were painted by Danny Fogleman and he hosted this Fontenoy game at the Seven Years War Association Convention in 2018.
Lovely photo Jim.
