RSM Russian Grenadiers in the front and Minden Musketeers in the back row. |
Here are a couple of pictures of my small but growing SYW Russian army. The grenadier battalion represents the 1st Grenadier Regiment in the Seven Years War and uses RSM figures plus some Minden French command figures painted as Russians.
The musketeer battalion are all Minden French without lapels but with turnbacks, painted as Russians.

That is a fantastic looking unit. The grenadiers are especially nice. Pity these wouldn't mix that well with my FR/Foundry lot, as you've made these figures look very tempting.
ReplyDeleteBest for the new year,
Michael
I used to have 24 battalions of Foundry Russians, 30-figures per battalion, and sold them all with relative ease. Now I'm starting over with the RSM figures and some Mindens. RSM figures are very economical, less than $1.00 per figure in bags of 36 figures. Maybe you could start with one battalion and see how you like painting them.

I am sure your Russian army will be spectacular if these two regiments are anything to go by.
ReplyDeleteGreat brushwork on the figures.
John
I like the RSM grenadier marching pose - it reminds me of your figures John.
DeleteLike them, and happy to know about Richard in 2016!!!
ReplyDeleteThey look great. I must tidy up my Russians next year.
ReplyDeleteA fine looking bunch of fellows!!
ReplyDeleteLooking to fill the gap left by John's departure? Based on the last few games we can't have too many Russians!
ReplyDeleteThese are only 30 figure units based on a smaller frontage than what we use for BAR, so I'm not sure that they can be used in big battalion games.
DeleteYour russian army so far looks great. Like the grenadiers
ReplyDeletereally great
