Cadwalader's Militia Brigade

American Militia - Fife & Drum Miniatures. Terrain pieces & buildings by Herb Gundt. Click to enlarge.

Here is a picture of the complete American militia brigade that I will be fielding in my AWI game at this year's SYW Assn. convention on March 30-31 in South Bend, Indiana. The unit in the back row with the red flag with the Union Jack in the canton is the newest militia unit that I have added to the brigade. They are the Westmoreland County Militia in Pennsylvania. Flags by GMB Designs.

So, what do you think? Feel free to leave a comment below.

  1. Fantastic work! I'd be afraid they'd get up and march away. Since they're Pennsylvanians, your birch beer and Lebanon bologna stocks would be in trouble!
Seriously, your work is always inspiring. (My wife also got some teddy bear troops to paint.)

  2. Excellent work, I love the rocks on the stands of your one set of militia (natural or did you have to add some paint? Also the red flags of the brigade are fantastic particularly the ones which have the Union jack in the corner.

  3. Agreed! A lovely set-up and fantastic units. The red flags are especially eye-catching.

    Best Regards,

  4. Really impressive array...a truly inspiring collection.
