The Return of the Teddy Bear Wars

The Brown Bears versus the Black Bears. The objective of the game is to capture the most M&Ms candies.

You asked for it, you want it, so you're going to get it - The Teddy Bear Wars are coming back! The epic battles between Lady Emma Cuddleston-Smythe and Der Alte Fritz will continue after a few year's hiatus. Methinks that Lady Cuddleston-Smythe recognizes a good mark when she sees one (that would be me, don't you know).

Lady Emma ("the good guys") and Der Alte Fritz ("the bad guys") will be playing our next game tomorrow, Friday and a game report will be posted afterwords. In the meantime, here are some pictures from our past games from 2007 to 2011:

Our very first Teddy Bear Wars game in 2007

Der Alte Fritz has a losing record of 0-4 in wins/losses and has proven to not be the tactical strategist that Lady Emma is. Maybe I will prevail for once, but I doubt it.

I have a game book for Boxing Day with my daughter...

Another chance for her to stomp all over me. ;-)

    All the best. Aly

  2. I do think its the job of good dads to lose to their children in such a way as to make it seem good generalship!
Reward yourself with a pot of honey!

  8. Those teddy bears are great. I use them as the "Toyland Fencibles" in our Games Group's pre-Christmas gathering's pulp "Free Santa" game.

  11. Never got the "must let the children win" bit. It's a cold hard world out there and having their parents win teaches them that. besides there are M&M's at stake and you know you want them. Enjoy the game.

    1. But I'm not letting her win, she's a great dice roller and usually slaughters me in fire fights. 😳

    2. I don’t ‘let’ my daughter win...
But I do sometimes get the feeling that it is her who is giving the ‘old man’ an easy time by not slaughtering me to quickly...

      All the best. Aly

    3. I know the feeling gentlemen. My son makes rolling dice look so easy. often wondered whether I should take him to Vegas to create my retirement fund!

  12. Great figures and fun games for you both - a shame that these Eureka bear 28mm figures don't seem to be around anymore? I have some cheap silicone cake dec / sugracraft moulds (which take Fimo Sculpey polymer clay) for making 50mm ish bear figures but have only made one birthday one so far, not yet an army, which can be seen at https://manoftinblog.wordpress.com/2016/06/22/bearskin-cake-of-death-warriors/

    1. I heard that Eureka sold the Teddy Bear range to an individual for his own personal use in his own collection. Said person does not sell the figures commercially. Sort of like John Ray and his figures.
