I think British 1 pence pieces do, though (at least some I have left over from a trip to the UK a few years ago do).Fitz-Badgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15510866929782142007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504742686650223041.post-49209785683638642282010-02-25T10:18:17.618-06:002010-02-25T10:18:17.618-06:00Hi Jim,

I take a swipe of the penny with a file to expose the metal and make for a better metal to metal bond with the superglue. So the penny has a steel look to it beneath the copper. I put the Mindens on pennies so that they would be a little bit taller and match up better to the Staddens 30mm in my BAR armies.

Bases are MDF wood measuring 60mm b 40mm for the infantry. The cavalry bases shown in the pix are 2 inches by 2.5 inches, although I may actually use 2 inch squares and only put two horses on each base, instead of the 3 shown.Der Alte Fritzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01578422757511400566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504742686650223041.post-63432728021272801362010-02-25T04:58:45.751-06:002010-02-25T04:58:45.751-06:00Speaking of pennies, I know that the newer Canadia...Speaking of pennies, I know that the newer Canadian pennies are now made of a steel alloy and thus will stick to magnets.

I have heard (but do not know for sure) that that is also true of newer American pennies. It might be worth checking out.

-- JeffBluebear Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07595975572873838050noreply@blogger.com
