When I realized that there was a difference, I also realized that I didn't have enough figures to depict the 9 companies. Just more to paint.

This is probably going to take a couple of years to build the armies up to critical mass. I have 3 battalions of French right now and a similar number of Prussians - and nothing else at this time. Bill is pledging to paint 2 battalions of French - they are being painted in Bangladesh right now. So we will soon have 4-5 battalions of French and when I get at least 4 btns of Prussians, we can start playtesting the rules and add cavalry at a later date.

I can foresee adding 1805-07 Russians, 1805 Austrians and maybe some British for 1807 somewhere down the road. Since I paint my own figures these days, this will take a long time to bring all of this together, but all of you can say that you were there at the beginning.

Nothing on the rules yet, as we are still in the initial planning stages.Der Alte Fritzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01578422757511400566noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504742686650223041.post-47170579568005409662007-12-27T06:35:00.000-06:002007-12-27T06:35:00.000-06:00...excellent - a new year approaches and you have ......excellent - a new year approaches and you have a new project with all that entails, painting, organising, and a new set of rules to develop... does it get any better for a wargamer??! Best of all - I get to read how you're doing (and I have my own new projects to keep me busy!)Steve-the-Wargamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07077311120172727690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504742686650223041.post-45921911833037164882007-12-27T02:26:00.000-06:002007-12-27T02:26:00.000-06:00JimInspiring as ever! I am currently collecting Danes of the 1806/07 period - to fit in with the battle of Koge 1807 - Wellington's first victory in Europe and for a brief encounter the Danes had with the French of Bernadotte on the 6th December 1806.
I like the "Top Hats " of the early Danes and some of the fascinating units they had at this time especially the Landvaren.
Have you thought of organisation for other nations such as the British - or are you restricting your thoughts to the french and the Prussians at present?tradgardmastarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13116967655904601740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504742686650223041.post-79922570338772608952007-12-27T02:14:00.000-06:002007-12-27T02:14:00.000-06:00Jim, this is terrific stuff. I am looking forward to seeing eventually the BAR Napoleonic rules and wonder if 2008 will also bring something from CS Grant for the same period.

The organisation in the photo is not the same as you intend in the blog. Is this a transitional phase?

All the best with the project.

Duke of BaylenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504742686650223041.post-21727137561612107682007-12-26T21:51:00.000-06:002007-12-26T21:51:00.000-06:00Very handsome indeed, Jim.
